Not only the plot of the ballet is filled with magic, but also the charming dance steps and the wonderful music of Pyotr Tchaikovsky. Owing to the combination of a fascinating storyline, refined choreography and great music, the ballet has become a legend of the world ballet classics.

Funk in our performance will transport you to the 70s of the last century, forcing you to immerse yourself in the dance of African American culture.
Behind the drums is Buddy Rich’s illegitimate son, and the keyboardist is Monk’s reincarnation. Our bassist splits nuts with his blindness, and any man will envy the dexterity of the guitarist’s hands. Our collection is completed by a vocalist who, according to rumors, invented jazz.
Of course, it’s all a joke.

Although our name is directly related to funk, the repertoire is not so categorical.
We love everything that «shakes». The directions in which we work are very interconnected, because they arose under the influence of jazz, which we love and respect so much.

Since the remarkable success of the opera «Nabucco», which became a symbol of the national revival in Italy, Giuseppe Verdi has remained the most popular and performed opera composer. His melodies are memorable and his operas are included in the repertoires of not only Italian theatres, but also of the top opera houses of the world.

Lviv National Opera presents the opera «Fox Mykyta» by the Ukrainian composer Ivan Nebesnyi, which was written specially for our theatre. Libretto is written by the director Vasyl Vovkun and is based on the famous fairy-tale «Fox Mykyta» by Ivan Franko.
The opera is suitable for family viewing. Our fairy tale with its entertaining storyline, humour and adventures of the cunning Fox conceals burning social issues. The world of the animals, which are the main characters of the opera, is strikingly similar to the human society with all its laws of struggle for existence. «Who … cares when we have heads so wise and sly?». It is wisdom and slyness that help Fox Mykyta to overcome all challenges and to become a winner.
Opera «Fox Mykyta» by Ivan Nebesnyi hides many surprises: powerful sound (along with the orchestra we will hear traditional Ukrainian instruments: cymbals, banduras, jew’s harp and trembitas), contemporary set design, bright costumes and masks as well as modern 3D projection and light technologies.
