Ukrainian swimmer Maksym Krypak became the most titled sportsman of the 2020 Paralympics in Tokyo before it officially ended, Suspilne reports.

The man won a total of seven medals, five of them «gold», one «silver», and one «bronze». Maksym Krypak set a record at the last Paralympics, receiving the highest number of wins in swimming, as well as among all the disciplines in general.

Krypak was first in the 200-meter complex swimming and set a Paralympic record – 05.68 seconds.

Earlier in Tokyo, the athlete won four gold medals in the 100-meter freestyle, 100-meter butterfly, 400-meter freestyle and 100-meter backstroke.

Among all multi-medal winners in Tokyo, nine sportsmen are swimmers, and one is the track and field athlete. It’s the American Nick Mayhugh, who took eighth place.

Let us remind that earlier, the representative of the Poltava region Serhii Yemelyanov, won «gold» in rowing on a single kayak in the KL3 class.

Yemelyanov covered the distance of 200 meters in 40.355 seconds, by 0.1 seconds ahead of the closest rival from Russia. Mykola Syniuk from Rivne won a silver medal in rowing 200 meters on a single kayak in the KL2 class.
